At the DM Group, it was our endeavour to implement an ERP system at all our units to systemize, symplify and speed up our day to day activities. The target was to begin this initiative from Tea Division. Consequently, we evaluated a number of software vendors who provide specialized solutions for the Tea Industry, and awarded the contract for implementing a fully integrated ERP solution at all our Units, Regional Office as well as Head Office to M/s ContemSys Software Private Limited in 2009.
We have had a positive experience with the software Grill Version 3.0, as well as team members of M/s ContemSys Software Private Limited in course of the implementation of the ERP system. The basic package was in conformity with all the major processes of the Tea Industry, and all customizations required, were delivered by M/s ContemSys Software Private Limited to our satisfaction.
Following this, we had also commissioned M/s ContemSys Software Private Limited to develop a web-based ERP system for our Engineering and Marketing Divisions. As like in the Tea ERP package, customizations have been taken care of and are being provided by M/s ContemSys Software Private Limited.

There is a lack of readily available software for Tea Industry. After substantial trial and error, we had engaged Contemsys Software Pvt. Ltd. to develop a tailor-made software for our tea gardens, head office and branches. The first version of this software was christened as GRILL-II. This software, once implemented, required substantial modifications in view of the ground realties. The vendor was proactive and ammenable for changes and that led to a reasonably reliable and robust system based on ORACLE® platform.
The software encompasses the gamut of activities, such as field, factory, payroll, stores, production, purchase, sales, exports, accounts & finance with intelligent MIS, centralise checks and balances. The after-sales service of Contemsys Software Pvt. Ltd. is commendable and their online support system quite strong.
We are now using the upgraded version of this software which is called GRILL-III.
